[Honest Review] Spa Elements

Many of my friends may know that I love going for massages (No, I am not rich but I am one that goes for trials and Groupon deals - hence I am not really paying a lot to experience the services, but I guess they are more than enough for me to post my reviews on here!)

Unfortunately, there is no photograph taken for this review due to the rushed job (You will read more about it in later part of this post)

If you are someone who does read-ups of reviews (like me) before deciding to purchase any packages or deals from spa/massage companies, you will be glad to chance upon my blog as I will post my honest opinions on here (I am always honest, anyway. HAHA)

And one thing I always look out for is WHETHER a company will do hard-selling.
I totally HATE hard-selling, it totally puts me off. Even if I am impressed by your services, I will NOT want to sign up with one that pushes sales. I am sure potential consumers like yourselves dislike it, too.

Enough said, I shall review on one of the massage companies I recently visited -Spa Elements.

Unlike previous deals, I did not purchase it through Groupon - but rather, a voucher that was given to my friend (she is my massage khaki!).

We paid around $23 (inclusive of GST) after the services.

From their brochure, I noticed that there are two branches - One at The Cathay (Dhoby Ghaut area, which is the one I went to) and another at Orchard Ion.

Services: 6/10
Not sure if it's due to overwhelming response as they have an ongoing promotion, I feel that they have compromised on the quality of their services.
From beginning to end, everything seemed like a pretty rushed job.
I remembered the masseur knocking on my door to ask if I was ready when I've not even removed my shirt!
I was supposed to feel relaxed during the massage, but I felt somehow pressurized as the massage started off in a VERY fast-paced manner. Yes, it was still a 1-hour massage nonetheless and I guess they were just trying to make the best out of it. The masseur did slow down her pace in the middle though.

Quality of massage (Depending on the masseur): 7/10
The masseur had not bad skills. She did massage on some of my joints that badly needed a good massaging; and I felt they were on point.

Environment: 6/10
Quite a small and simple place, but cosy enough. There was a large wardrobe in each room for us to place our belongings.

Hard-selling factor: 2/10
I'm relieved. There's no hard-selling involved, even tough they did introduce some of their packages to us. The promotional price for their packages are at $68 per session, and I would say that it is not very cheap, as compared to other places I've been to.
Nonetheless, I am glad they are not pushy about their sales. That's a plus point.

Overall,I would say that they are still pretty okay - but not the best I've been to. I'll be reviewing more places on my blog in time to come - Stay tuned for more! :)

[Event] Shibuya Girls + Mini Halloween activity FUN! :)

With "recommendation" from Nixeux, she told me about the Shibuya Girls event that was held on Saturday @ Kbox Function Hall.

What a sight when I got there! There were many gyaru-looking girls there when I arrived.
(I'm not someone who is following the Gyaru trend, but it was still interesting as I managed to observe and learn more about their kind of makeup through the event.)

The different Gyarus onstage:

There were mini flea booths as well and those stuff were going reaalllyy cheap. Like $10 for 2 pcs of apparels?!

I got myself a little something:

With Zhicong and Jade.
Darn. This angle makes my face look damn fat:. Am I really THAT fat??

Met Jade and Zhicong who were there as well, and helped Jade to take a photo of her and her favorite blogger, Kelly. :)
This is for you! :)

I guess these freebies were sponsored by Watsons as they came in a Watsons bag! Gosh, they were so generous:
(Look at the falsies! I have a feeling I am going to love it.)

That is what being a girl is all about.. Lalala:

After the event that ended at around 6pm, we headed down to the basement that contains a makeshift haunted house by Universal Studios Singapore (USS).
Yes yes, it's FREE admission. So you can basically enter as many times as you can.

Damn it, my eardrums almost exploded from those people who were screaming like crazy in the haunted house! (And there was absolutely NOTHING in there at all except a few scary props and dark light)
Duh, attention seekers.

Join your collection??!

Before entering the Haunted house:

Here's Wen:

And myself:

The interior was so freaking dark that I almost bang into a dead end =_=.

I randomly raised my flash and shot this photo. You can't actually see it clearly when you are in there.

The light effects that obstruct your vision. (But it turned out looking nice on camera.)
Gosh. I couldn't see where I was going!

Kinda' miss those times when I was working as a scare actor at USS last year.
*tears*
Well. Life gotta move on!!

Came out and headed to *Scape to play with the props outside Museum of Horrors:
Killing da' zombiessss!!!

*ROAR!!!*

Wen gave me this idea to pose like this - hitting on the severed head =_=
(LOL):

And killing another zombie with an ultimate chainsaw:

Ahhhh!!

 Ok, enough of the play.
Stumbled upon a Coca Cola truck outside Cineleisure that was having a mini Halloween activity and they were giving out Halloween treats!

(LOL, the "witch" in this photo was totally cool. I love his portrayal of the witch)

Yes, all we had to do was to shout and slam the "PRESS ME" button HARD for something to fall out.

I got this:

Nope, its not movie tickets.

But a Timezone Reloadable card! :D

Thanks for the Halloween treat!

I was given an extra treat by the "witch" while I was in the queue:
OMG, a limited edition Hello Kitty Maybelline mascara!!
Thanks, witch! :)

The back view:

Took a photo with the friendly witch before making our move:

The streets of Orchard were really beautiful, especially with the current Halloween decorations.
It seems that Singaporeans are starting to love Halloween now, unlike ages ago when I felt that I was the only one who was so crazy about such stuff!

Before ending this entry....

BOO! Happy Halloween, all!

[OMY Invite]: TED Preview Screening!

Guess which movie I watched this time?!

Here's a clue:

Yes. It's TED!!! (I guess it's Teddy for short)

With super thanks to OMY.sg for the Preview movie invite to TED, I had the opportunity to catch one of the most hilarious movies ever.

In an excited mode, I rushed from my workplace to The Cathay and reached around 7pm.

Here's the mega large poster of the movie, taken at the venue itself:

Collected the tickets (YAY, thanks, OMY.sg!)

Inside the cinema, before the movie begun!

Any company willing to sponsor me some treatment for my eyebags?! LOL. Random.

Being a teddy bear lover (No joke, I love teddies so much that I have one at my house AND office, for companion and comfort's sake. LOL) , I almost fainted when I watched the movie due to its overloaded cuteness.

Here's a sneak peek:
Regular trailer: -

So the whole idea is a teddy plush that talks after a child made a wish upon a meteor shower.
And they are each other's best friends ever since... with a roller coaster of emotions.

I was surprised at myself for almost crying when TED in the movie first started talking. (I really regretted not bringing one of my teddies along, seriously! I am sure I will hug it so tight that it will be squashed after the movie. LOL)

I believe the first part would make any girls (or maybe SOME guys) go "Awww". If you do not know what is the definition of "cute" already, you got to check that out.

However, the only thing that "spoiled" its cuteness is Ted's ability to use profanities (Oh boy, I actually lost count of how many times the "F" word was used! It can be heard in almost every line.)
And there's a reason why its M18. Some parts of the movie do indeed contain disturbing/obscene scenes that imply... ...Sex. (I remembered there was one scene when Ted was shown having sex with another female character in the movie. That was, honestly, quite disturbing.)

I would say that that TED is an interesting movie with a hilarious twist. Throughout the movie, you will find yourself hating and loving Ted at the same time.

Almost everyone in the cinema went "Ooooh, shucks!" when Ted was eventually ripped apart by the bad guy in the movie.
His round teddy body was soon ripped into 2 different pieces to reveal the cotton wool that dispersed in the air... as he fell lower.. and lower... until he hit the ground.

"Nooooooo", I said silently in my heart.
(I am usually not a sentimental person, but I almost cried when that scene happened. Ted reminds me so much of my beloved teddy!)

It was a touching scene when both the main characters (John Bernett and his girlfriend) in the movie tried to "revive" him - but to no avail.
Reality hit when they realized Ted was of no more.
The magic was gone - and Ted looked just like any other ordinary bear, except that he was in a disastrous state.

(T___T)

I actually expected the ending to be a depressing one - but it appears that miracles happened!
I shan't reveal much more now... What more fun will there be if I tell you everything, right? ;)

If you are a teddy lover, I'm sure you will enjoy the movie as much as I did.

I give this movie a 4 / 5!

Conclusion?
I will never look at teddies the same way ever again.

Do mark your calendar of your date with TED as the movie will be officially released on:
  6th September 2012!

Had Ya Kun for dinner after the movie!:

My Cheesy French Toast:

We took a stroll along the stalls and found bears on display outside Billy Bombers:
(AND I STARTED WONDERING IF THE BEAR WOULD COME ALIVE)
Now that's what happens when you watch too much TED.

*TED syndrome*

TEDDIES ARE SO FREAKING CUTE.
