The many patterns of Selfies

Taking selfies has always been the trend. Everywhere- almost EVERYWHERE -it is not hard to spot someone aiming a phone at himself/herself on the streets.

Or one may also see tons of selfies on Facebook as well.
(I always wonder why people can upload so many selfies of the same poses. *rolls eyes*)

Of course, I can't criticize much as I am guilty of taking selfies as well - AND I shall demonstrate a few pattern-more-than-badminton expressions since I had too much time on my hands while taking this series of selfies:

The "show-teeth" smile selfie:

I would say smiling selfies are more decent, as compared to other irritating expressions (which I will demonstrate later). Of course, playing with angles is important as well. Tilting your head 45 degrees and aiming your phone at a higher position will give the "fake" impression that your face looks, erm, angular and slimmer.. I suppose. Oh, and don't forget the super bright lighting to shine on the side of your face so you look more like a dreamgirl.

The "close-mouth" smile selfie:

Not showing any teeth because your teeth ain't straight or probably you think you look better with mouth closed. I used to smile without teeth in photos but I realized it makes me look... unnatural in some ways.
Oh well, not everyone can pull off the same smile, I guess.

The "act-innocent" selfie:

Alamak, how old liao still want to act innocent? But I guess girls just like to be associated with... innocence. Or the look that can make anyone go "Awww.." so you can get away with anything.
Just give that lip of yours a little pout and you are good to go.

The "puffy" selfie: (AND THE MOST IRRITATING TYPE, IN MY OPINION)

OH MY GOODNESS, I can't stand it whenever girls do such expressions in selfies. (Me included) There is always a tendency to that in selfies when you run out of "ideas" - but please do not KEEP TO THAT EXPRESSION throughout ALL your selfies.
Do you think that kind of face will make you look cuter in all photos? One or two is fine, but ALL?! You must be kidding. It gives one the urge to slap your cheeks to deflate them.

Pattern more than badminton. Duh.

Okay, I guess I'm done with this really random post. Disclaimer: I'm not an expert in taking selfies, but just thought I would like to share some of the commonly-seen selfie expressions here.
If you feel offended in any way, I assume you are guilty. LOL.

Photoshoot with my Shreky!

It has been some time since I last had a photoshoot (Not that my current photoshoot is an official one anyway), but it is more like a fun and special one.

So... Why is it special, you ask?

I totally LOVE the selfie concept that is incorporated in the studio. In other words, there is NO photographer present at all.
Yes, no more excuses of being camera-shy! For all you know, you may end up loving the experience.

You are your OWN photographer with a handheld remote control that can be easily hidden or camouflaged if you know how.

You are allowed the whole studio to yourself to go crazy with poses without being paranoid that there will be anyone laughing at you.

That's me with my shreky - It was her first time going for such photoshoots and we had lots of fun!

There were different various types of props and wigs as well that we played around with - Here's one of the crazier shots (Her expression is epic here!) Haha

I know what you are thinking there - No. I am straight. Straight as a ruler, ok?

But that doesn't stop me from loving my shreky nonetheless.
(We are "legally" married on Facebook afterall! LOL)

We took approximately 200+ over shots - but I can't possibly post them all here.
Anyway, thank you so much for the fun experience! I love the fact that the photos are all burned to a disc at the end of the session (It's FREE!) and we can have each and every shot taken- be it good or bad.

Photoshoots can be lots of fun with the right people!

Thank you to my laopo Shreky for the session! :) I hope you love the photographs as much as I do too!

[Advertorial] QING TATTOO - Exclusively designed temporary tattoos!

BAAM!!
What's that on my hand? ;)
(Noooo... I did not have a tattoo!)

Oh well, maybe I DID have a tattoo...
but a temporary one!

Introducing you Qing Tattoo -a new online webstore that caters to EXCLUSIVELY DESIGNED temporary tattoos by a talented individual.
(Don't worry, those tattoos are not permanent and can be washed off easily!)

So.. What's a temporary tattoo, you say?

You may call it a skin accessory and a non-permanent body art - and all you need to do is just pasting it on your skin using simply water!

Kinki, the online webstore owner and the designer herself, was very kind to send me two designs of my choice. (Thank you!)

(Seriously, MOST of the designs featured in her catalogue are very beautiful... You'll know what I mean later!)

I have to say that I was very, very impressed even before I have seen her work.
Fancy that - Even the envelope that the tattoos came in was specially designed by her!
(And it's made of good thick material quality. Hahaha.)

And there are even instructions printed at the back of the envelope. How thoughtful! *smiles*

And ta-da - here are the 2 designs that I have chosen from her catalogue, namely Phoenix and Dandelion.

Here' a close-up of the Dandelion tattoo, that comes in a set of 2!.

Captivating design, I would say.

And here's a close-up of the Phoenix tattoo, that comes in a set of 6!.
(I really love how the color seems to have a tinge of gradient effect! The transition between black and red is awesome!)

For this review, I'm gonna put on the Phoenix tattoo - and show you how easy the application was!
As what the instructions stated, prepare the position where you want the tattoo to be on. For visible results, I decided to place it on my hand!

After having done so, just press the paper against the skin firmly.. and dab it with water! (But take caution not to make it TOO wet...)

And... just need to wait around for 30 seconds while the design is in the progress of being "transferred" onto your skin!

Honestly, I was worried that I might screw up during the process...
(What the heck, why do I have such long strands of hair on my hand?! Time to shave :( )

And... TA-DA!!
I succeeded, and here's the final result!
The design was completely transferred; and totally flawless.
Amazing and fun at the same time, RIGHT, right... RIGHT?!?!

Somehow I felt a sense of satisfaction when I was admiring the design on my hand. LOL.
I took a fun shot of it using my mobile phone camera and added a filter effect. Looks realistic, huh. I had friends asking me if the tattoo was real. Hahaha.\

Ah, of course not, silly.

Benefits of a temporary tattoo:
  • - Cheap, fun and really easy to apply! (Even children will feel the joy!)
  • -Can be washed off easily, simply using warm water and soap! (Otherwise, it can withstand a few washes without any fading at all! I know because I have personally tried and tested.. and it's still going strong!)

Plus... the temporary tattoos by Qing Tattoo are exclusively designed. In other words, you will not be able to find them anywhere other than Qing Tattoo

There are many designs for you to choose from - so you can slowly take your time to go through them. I think they make great gifts as well!

(Hint: Christmas comes early)
