[Winners Announced] *SCAPE Museum of Horrors 2013 - The Twins

Thank you to everyone who participated in my recent giveaway!
It's really heartwarming to receive your entries ; especially when I know you guys love Halloween as much as I do!
Many of you have got the answer correct - THE TWINS!

As this is totally a fair game, I will be totally transparent here - I have actually selected the winners using a Random Generator. (Hence, everything is generated randomly!)

As there can only be two winners, I'll be selecting the first 2 names that the generator has randomized.

Congratulations to Saralyn and Hui Lin!

Both of you have won yourselves a trip to the Museum of Horrors 2013. Embrace yourselves for the horror that awaits you!
(I have sent both of you an e-mail notification; so do check your junk folder too just in case!)
P/S: In the event that you are not able to redeem the tickets, they will be let go to the next winner in queue.

As for the rest of the participants, I sincerely thank each and every one of you who supported my blog.
Please do continue to support me, alright? :) I'll be hosting more giveaways soon - and I hope everyone can be a winner!

[Media Launch] Museum of Horrors 2013: The Twins [ Plus Bonus Giveaway to readers!]

**This blog entry comes with a Giveaway! Be sure to read till the very end and answer a VERY simple question to win!**

I was invited to Museum of Horrors's media launch at *Scape Warehouse again this year (Thank you, Ying Han, for sending me the invite!) ; and I am glad to say that I survived the adventure and lived to tell the tale! (Hahaha)

Thankfully, I was allowed to bring along a plus one - and my boyfriend, Momo, specially took half a day off from work to accompany me. :) (Awww, thank you!)

I was totally looking forward to the event and came mentally prepared for some good scares. ;)
.
I have to say I already felt the "Halloween atmosphere" even before I reached the venue. Speaking of setting the perfect mood!

Yes, the theme for this year is "THE TWINS"... Does it ring a bell to you?

Oh wait - were my eyes playing tricks on me??

Oh No! *Gasp* Did you see what I see?

Nah.. That was only an appetizer.

The real journey was yet to begin...

Finally, we reached the venue:

Registration for the Media and Bloggers ...

And we got our queue numbers to enter the Museum of Horrors!
(9 happens to be my personal lucky number as well! Hahaha)

While waiting for the event to begin, I went on a photo-snapping spree.
MUST NOT WASTE ANY CHANCE!
Doesn't the backdrop just look too cool?

And camwhore abit:
(In the spirit of Halloween, I wore my red lenses! But I didn't mean to look scary!)

Our lovely emcees.
(In case you are wondering, Museum of Horrors 2013 is a collaboration between a group of Singapore Polytechnic students, Movie Mania and *Scape ! Somehow, I feel proud because I can never stop emphasizing that I WAS AN EX-SP STUDENT! Hahaha.) #proudsenior

Soon, it was our batch's turn to enter the place and face the horror that was awaiting us behind closed doors.
It was said that we would be expecting to go through a maze with seven realistic dioramic sets depicting various novel places around Singapore with a reputation for the paranormal.

*squeals*

Pardon me for the picture quality as it was too dark inside and I tried my best to capture whatever I could!

We were led to watch a video before officially venturing into the night...
(The suspense was already starting to build up as we had to watch the video in an enclosed smokey area. The video showcased news reports of death cases, etc...
*shivers*

Were the spirits of the dead lurking around ; waiting for us at the dark side??!

And when the door to our first stage officially opened, I instantly felt like I was being transported into another world altogether.

Can you tell what this is?

It's an abandoned old bus-stop of... ...

Old Tampines Road!

And beware of what is in store for you...

After passing through the "first stage", here came the second scare as we found ourselves in another location again.

A funeral!

*gasp*

The setting was so freaking real that I was shocked for a second.

There was a "priest" throwing incense papers and behaving in the most suspicious manner...
We fastened our pace as we wanted to get out of here as soon as possible!

And we did...
but landed unknowingly at Bedok Reservoir Park
(This was actually my FAVORITE part out of the entire journey. Seriously, you have to BE THERE to feel the atmosphere! Everything was so freaking surreal.. So much that you would be tricked into thinking you were actually THERE for a second.)

Look closely.... and you can spot something moving... Dead body?
(It's actually much more creepier in real life than what is shown here in pictures as I used bright flash to capture them, hence reducing the scare factor. Nothing beats to be actually there physically to feel what I felt!)

The surreal surrounding with "corpses" laying all around...
Would you dare to go near them?

If you feel you are watched, you probably were - indeed.

The feeling of stepping on dried leaves just added to the realism.

Poor victim... ...

Step further and you'll realize you are on a journey of no return...
We were now led to a Red Ballroom; where a wedding celebration was supposed to be held....

However, we suddenly stopped short in our tracks as we came to what seemed to be a dead end...
It was then that we discovered we actually walked into a lift....

AND THE FREAKING LIFT DOOR CLOSED ON US , leaving us trapped in it!

#(*#(*$&)(#$
Panic ensued, and there were screams everywhere.
Some of us knocked frantically on the door.
We were left in a frantic state for a few minutes and soon....
A side of the "lift" slowly opened...
Relieved, we rushed out and found ourselves interrupting a "wedding ceremony"...
Damn.

I guess the wedding wasn't meant for the living...

Look at the spread of "food" on the reception table!
How about joining in for dinner....?

As we slowly made our way out of the "wedding ceremony", we were issued a small torchlight that was supposed to aid us along the journey. (The whole place was VERY dark by now and I swear I could not even see my own hands in that darkness!)
Still, that didn't stop me from taking random photos.
I'm a dedicated blogger, okay! Hahaha.

Here's a picture of the torchlight. I captured this in the darkness.

The red stray of light.

Mirror, mirror on the wall..  Who's the fairest of them all??

Beware of stepping on the severed limbs...

We had to walk past this gruesome section of the trail....

Did I just hear you say "EEEWW"???!

Okay, I guess that was indeed, rather... Eeew. LOL.

I was trying to move forward and "somebody" just had to stand in my way.

I got so paranoid that I thought this mannequin was alive as well.
Hahaha. Silly me.

Eh, no, no.... It was not moving... Or was it??

Can you tell what this is?
(No, I am not going to reveal it as I do not want to spoil the fun.)

OMG. Do you recognize this doll?!
Is it me, or does it look so much like Annabelle the evil doll from The Conjuring??!

And soon, our journey came to an end...
In other words... We were all survivors!!

Here's a random photo that I took with one of the "ghosts" while I was making my way out.

Gosh, it was one hell of an experience!
Personally, I was seriously impressed by the hard work and effort the team had came up with - I TOTALLY LOVED every single bit of time I spent there! Ironic, I know, since it was supposed to be scary and all - but I really enjoyed the unexpected thrill and horror.
That is one of the reasons why I'm in love with Halloween so much - I can never get enough of the scares, even if it means I have to go through it a 100 times!

If you are one who is game enough to go through this journey, be it ALONE (that is more thrilling, don't you think??!) or with a group of friends, I can assure you that this will be a satisfying one.

THANK YOU to *Scape once again for inviting me to the event!

[Media Preview] Museum of Horrors 2012

I was invited to the Media Preview of Museum of Horrors 2012 (Organized by *SCAPE), which has returned for a third installment!

*squeals*

It was an additional bonus for me as it fell on my birthday as well, and it sure was a... ... different feeling entering the scary place alone. (I didn't bring any friends along for the event.)

Almost everywhere in *SCAPE was decorated with "Zombie Outbreak" stickers, and I thought it was cool!

Beware. Zombies Inside.

I reached the place way too early, and went on a photo-taking spree.

Do you dare enter the doors and play with the zombies?

I love it that they even placed a booth of props outside for all to take photos freely.
Look at the severed heads!
What will you do if you find it beside your bed in the morning?
*evil laugh*

You have been warned:

I was accompanied by 4 other bloggers, and we were the first batch to enter!
*shivers in excitement*

We were led through the doors by a staff from Movie Mania (He was dressed in a doctor's lab suit!) and he gave us a tour around the place while explaining the storyline to us.

The first stop. There is no turning back now.

The first stop is just an "introductory" session. Witness what the doctor has to say before you embark on the journey. Brace yourselves as you come face-to-face with his failed creations at a later stage.

Be greeted by this disfigured prop.

*Roaaarrr!!!!*

Proceeding on with our journey:
(Yes, it's VERY dark inside)

There were strings of "spiders" dangling everywhere as you pass through the corridor to the second room.

And here, we arrived.
The room was filled with "centipedes", "cockroaches" and other insects. Enough to make you gag.
(Yes, it was actually a real person lying there motionlessly. But you'll never know if he will lunge at you any moment!)

Artistic photo I took (LOL!):

Look around the room. Don't be surprised that there are hidden zombies in a section.
Pleading for you to let them out. Will you do it?

Another mysterious "creature" sitting silently at the corner of the room, unmoving. (But he will suddenly "scream" at you at random timings!)

Look at how "bloody" the wall is!

I love how the bat was hanging at a corner. Mysterious!!

We slowly proceeded to the next room, known as the "Mortuary":

The atmosphere was tense!
It was such a sight with so many "dead' bodies lying around while covered in white sheets. Its like you won't know when one of them would jump and scream at you any moment!
I eyed each one of them suspiciously.
Hmmm.

Standing at the corner in the dark room was this hooded girl. We actually spent time guessing whether she is a real person or prop! LOL.
Believe me, it isn't easy differentiating them in all of the dark rooms.
The reason you are able to see them clearly through the photos is due to my camera's flash.

What lies beneath the barred door?

And here they are!! Quickly make your move or they will come after you...

Entering another corridor to the other room requires some guts. There seemed to be hundreds (ok, I am exaggerating =_=) of "hands" reaching out for you.
The hands felt so real that you would think for a moment that they are!!

Here we are, with another hooded figure welcoming you:

A prop?

NO, HE is real!!
(He actually stood up from the chair and came toward us. OMG!)

Kudos to this scare actor! I remember him from last year (Yeah, I was there as well) and he was one of the scare actors that left a deep impression on me.
Superb acting skills.
He would really give you the creeps!!

A motionless figure again:

Would you try out the frozen food?

We were handed a pair of 3D glasses before entering another room that was decorated with neon-colored words. Wearing them actually produces an amazing effect as everything will look as though it is "popping" out. Totally dimensional.
AND THIS EXPERIENCE IS ONLY AVAILABLE AT MUSEUM OF HORRORS!

And you know what?
It is inclusive of 4D effects as well due to the fact that you can even SMELL them.
I actually smelled intestines. Hmmm..

Everything was just so surreal.

Unfortunately, I couldn't capture the dimensional look as you'll need the glasses. Still, it looks awesome on my photos!

Contaminated Area - Enter at your own risk.
But there is no turning back now.

A beautiful place where horror awaits. (Ironic, huh?)

What can you see in the darkness?

Seriously, I think the interior of the 3D was scary in a beautiful manner. I have always loved neon colors.
Nonetheless, do beware as you walk the room. You'll never expect when the next good scare is coming as there will be "something" hiding at every corner you turn!

A galaxy of hand prints left by zombies:

Exiting from the 3D room led us to another.

Do you see anything suspicious here?

Taking a closer look:

I was totally taken aback by this "ghost" here as she suddenly appeared from the cupboard that I wasn't aware of.

Walking further in was an "old lady" that laid still on the bed.
She would suddenly shake her body as though she was possessed.
Don't stare at her too long though!

Superb makeup:

Nearing the end, we meet this little "kid":
(It may be a different character you'll come face to face with as they actually CHANGE the endings for each journey!)

Well... I am glad I survived the journey!! YAY!

Attending bloggers were given a "survival kit" each before/after the journey. Interesting stuff!

Boo! Did I scare ya? LOL.

A water gun included meant for us to shoot the zombies. LOL. Pardon my messy hair. I had one hell of an experience back at Museum of Horrors afterall!

Playing with the ring light:

For those of you who have been to Museum of Horrors during the previous years, do not miss out this year's as well!

(Yes, there were people who actually screamed from the entrance till they reached the exit. So you can judge for yourself how scary it would be!)

This year's Museum of Horrors was conducted with a different twist. It has a STORYLINE, and you will actually be a part of it. Witness the story of a crazy doctor and his lab!

Yes, those "ghosts" will find an opportunity to catch you unaware at every turn. *evil laugh*

What's most interesting about the whole Museum of Horrors journey is that there are different endings on random days. This means that you can actually return to the same place but experience alternate endings each time you embark on a journey at Museum of Horrors!
