Drink like a Boss at Boss Cafe!! (+ GIVEAWAYS!)

Beware! This entry is Bubble-licious. If you are a Bubble tea lover, you will kick yourself for not reading this entry.

But fret not as there will be a GIVEAWAY at the end.. So be sure to read (and not to cheat by scrolling down) till the very end!

Guess where I am?

Introducing you...

BOSS CAFE!!
(Yes, it's your chance to drink LIKE A BOSS. Lol)
#likeaboss

Look at the exterior of the store that greeted me when I arrived.
And yes, those are photos of customers that are Boss Cafe's regulars on the right. Judging from the amount, you wouldn't have guessed that Boss Cafe is only...
2 + months old!

Yes, I didn't believe it myself either when I heard that it first opened its grand door in July. It may be a new cafe, but it definitely is surfacing as a strong competitor amongst many other bubble tea shops in Singapore.

Looking at the menu, you will be spoilt for choice.
No joke. #Personalexperience. Lol.

Their menu comes in small versions that you can take home too.
(Yes, it's so convenient that you can just slot it in between your wallet or bag so you can slowly decide your drink anytime you want! LOL.)

So cute, ain't they??

As a special request, we asked one of the Directors of Boss Cafe to show us the pearls that are used for their bubble teas.
I am captivated by the white pearls. Unlike black pearls which I had tasted before countless of times, I was definitely tempted to try the white version.

AND guess what??

Those white pearls taste like Yakult! (In actual fact, its actually a yoghurt-flavored syrup called Calpis - IMPORTED FROM JAPAN!)

I almost squealed in delight when I bit on the pearl.
It's like having Yakult juices in EACH individual pearl - it "squirts" when you bite!

Here's the mango flavor (I've always loved anything Mango-related!) that I had chosen to begin my first review:

Here's a close-up of the drink before I took my first sip. LOL:

What I love about the drink is that it tastes really refreshing - and rich in the "Mango taste". Together with the "Yakurt-tastealike" Calpis pearls, they are a perfect combination.

I believe the directors of Boss Cafe must have spent a decent amount of time coming up with such a great drink!

Happily posing with my drink:
Yes, bloggers usually spent alot of time camwhoring before actually drinking/eating something.
I wasn't aware of that until I realize I am doing it. Gosh.

Abrial's drink - The Calpis Yoghurt Flavor Burst series - Pink Guava!

Another pic of the Calpis pearls on top (Just to make you drool):

Doesn't it look tempting? Awesome shade of baby pink!
I've tasted a sip and my first reaction was "OH ME GOSH".
It's not overly sweet, but yet the tinge of Guava flavor in it was just right.  You will not waste another second trying to take on a second sip.

Another Must-TRY drink is this sunset-colored fruit punch:
The color of red and yellow blended so well that they became gradient-like.
So beautiful can?!

I called it the "Sunset drink" aka "夕阳西下".
LOL.

Just kidding. It's offcial name on the menu is "Red Hot Fantasy Slushie".

A close-up look of the color:

It's a mixture of fruits such as orange and strawberry.  If you are doubting the fact that they are the perfect combination, then wait till you try it out yourself. :)

And we added toppings to go along with the drink, konjac jelly.
Chewy and teasing to the taste buds.
Trust me, there isn't any reason for you NOT to fall in love with this specialty.
It actually tasted sour and sweet at the same time. (It reminded me of a cake which I had eaten before...Oh hmmm...)

OMG. Chocolate soft-serve, one of the Cafe's HOTTEST drink.

According to the wonderful Boss Cafe Crew, many regulars are returning just for this.

So... You must be wondering what EXACTLY it is that is so special about the drink..

One word?

Heavenly. #likeaboss

I was in for a pleasant surprise when I took my first sip. It's almost like you are DRINKING chocolate ice-cream instead of EATING it.

And fret not if you are on a diet... You can be completely guilt-free as it contains only 5% fat!

So GO ON and drink like there's no tomorrow. You won't get fat that easily, come on. LOL.

The sturdy machines:

With Abrial:

The young directors of Boss Cafe!!
(Yeah, they are friends who came together to manage the business.)
I'm always inspired by people like them. :)

And notice the design of their tees? I love it!

The back: "drink it like a boss!"

With Abrial and Mel from Melicacy.com

[Review] Taiwan Beer by Kaimay

Surprise!!

Guess what these are?

*unleashes the power*

Don't they look mighty?

6 different flavors of beer by Taiwan Beer!

I am sure many of you have heard of the brand somewhere as it has gained a new level of popularity recently.

Either that, or I am sure you have seen them in Supermarkets! (If you haven't, you'll be sure to notice them after reading my entry/ =P )

While attending the MediaCorp's event, Race Me, a few weeks back, I had the pleasure to meet with the Director of , Yi Sin , and she was so kind to sponsor a whole set of these Taiwan Beer for my review.

Me posing with the standee of Taiwan Beer's ambassador, Jolin Tsai. (LOL)

The first can that I picked from the lot to try is the Lychee flavor!

*LYCHEE BEER!!*

I have always liked the taste of Lychee, and having it as a form of beer is a really exciting idea. It was difficult to imagine how it would blend in with the taste of beer...

But the results are really satisfying!

The taste is just nice - not the overpowering kind- as it blends well with the mild taste of beer. I was actually quite thirsty when I drank it - so everything was heavenly.

And did I mention that it is a thirst quencher too?

White Grape Fruit Beer:

Honestly, I preferred the previous Lychee flavor better... But this doesn't mean that White Grape tastes bad. I just felt that it is more gaseous!
I shared the other half with my mum and she liked it. :)

Now for the Green Apple flavor!  =D

It's definitely an interesting addition to the range of beer flavors. I mean, where can you find a Green Apple flavored beer?!

Pineapple flavor:

I don't usually drink any drinks that are pineapple related... I have always thought the flavor is disgusting.
BUT much to my surprise, a pineapple beer doesn't taste as bad as I expected. I guess it mixes well with beer? ;)
I am sure many people out there would love this flavor if its available in stores!
(Oh, by the way... The can bears chinese text as it's an imported product straight from Taiwan!)

Mango Beer.

Another straight-from-Taiwan product that can make any mango lover shriek with excitement.
You will feel like you are drinking a can of gaseous mango juice. =P

The Original Taiwan Beer , a MUST TRY for any beer lovers.
If you are one that doesn't like flavored beers, here's the original version that you can go for.
They usually come in the form of bottles in supermarkets, so do look out for them!

I'm so thrilled with the can that I started camwhoring with it =_=.

My teddy, Xiao Bao, trying to snatch my Taiwan  Beer away while I was taking the photos.

NO, YOU DON'T!!

During my tour to China a few months back, I tasted different kinds of beer... But not as refreshing and interesting as those range Taiwan Beer has in store!
The good thing about it is that it doesn't entirely taste like plain beer (except for the original flavor) - but with additional flavors that enhance its taste.
So.. It's like killing 2 birds with one stone. You get to taste the beer that feels like a fruit juice but it isn't one!

I am not usually a drinker but Taiwan Beer is an exception...
However, I did feel "hot" around the area of my ears.. It was a kind of pleasing burning sensation.
LOL.

Gaah.. I'm just spoilt for for choice!

Thanks to Taiwan Beer by KaiMay once again for giving me the opportunity to review the range of different flavors!

Now... If you readers out there would like to try them for yourselves too, you can find them at your nearest supermarkets! However, only 2 flavors (Lychee and White Grape) are available at the time being.

Do check out their website at: http://www.kaimay.com.sg if you are interested to look at their other products as well! :D

Harassed and I have ENOUGH

Thank you to all my friends who have stood by me through this tough period of mine.
Since the incident broke out, many of you have been helping me and even sending words of encouragement.
As much as I do not wish to drag anyone into this issue, I greatly appreciate everything you guys have done.
You know who you are. Thank you so much, really. :)

It has not been easy for me, but I'll try my best to overcome it.

I believe many of you, especially my Facebook friends, have known what happened.

It has come to a point that I can't keep silent anymore -

especially when I am HARASSED to such a large extent.

I have never thought to have such a dramatic life - with someone messing up my life and leaving me to clean his shit up.

A few of the things he did (I have already minimized the amount of words):

1) He started a FAKE Facebook profile by the name of "SADAKO" - an account in disguise of a Japanese ghost that somehow went viral amongst my Facebook friend circle.
He then stalked my Facebook friends and mass-added them to his list, with an attempt to scare them.

He then went on to MISLEAD me into thinking that it was one of my best friends who made him do it. It was totally outrageous as it was an attempt to make me suspect my own friends, which I of course, do not believe.

2) He ruined my reputation as a blogger by using my name for his own personal gains. When I found out about it, he admitted and apologized for his greediness.

3) He ALMOST ruined my friendships with my best friends, one of whom I have been friends for 9 years.

4) He publicly defamed me online by proclaiming I am HIS girlfriend without MY knowledge. (FYI, I have NOTHING to do with this guy)
Thank God one of my friends found out and told me about it.

5) He listed out things about me which he ASSUMES are true on his blog, including how I want to be a lesbian by the age of 30. (That's another defamation.)

6) He harassed me at my workplace and ruined my image which I can be held accountable for (YOU THINK MY WORKPLACE IS YOUR HOME?!) , and this was also the final straw that I decided I HAVE to take actions against him.

Eventually, everything got blown out of proportion.

His reason?
He hopes that I can accept his so-called "love proposal" and be his girlfriend.

In my opinion, he isn't just an ordinary pursuer.
 He's obviously obsessed.
From stalking me online and downloading my photos and videos (he claimed it was for a birthday gift) ... I felt seriously sick.
(He claimed that he fell in love with me from my Facebook profile, posts, etc)

Do you not have any idea how sick that is?
I may not be who I am from my online persona.

In fact, how long have you known me for real?

It only took a few days for my world to tumble down into pieces just like that. I had one of the most terrible weeks of my life, with him constantly creating trouble for me AGAIN and AGAIN despite the fact that I gave him many chances to repent.

I really hope everything is over. If this is a nightmare, I would wish to wake up immediately now.

P/S: He has promised not to harass me anymore after confronting him for the final time today, and I do hope that he is true to his words. I have already alerted a few police officers about this issue.

Kelvin, this is the last and final chance I will be giving you.
Please stop all your nonsense and step out of my life.

A H2H blogpost

I have never really talked about my personal life on my blog, which kinda' defeats the purpose of having a blog in the first place.

I understand some of my friends have commented and thought how much I've changed throughout the years - whether or not they meant it in a good or bad way, I don't really know.

I admit- My appearance and the way I carry myself has changed in a tremendous way.
From an innocent young nerd who didn't give a damn about appearance to someone who is so vain and pile on makeup on my face (it's inevitable since I got into freelance photography modelling) - I can see why some people think I've changed.

But don't everyone grow up eventually?

Ask anyone close to me and they will tell you I am not who I portray in my photos.

Yes, so what if I was a freelance model?
It was only clothes and makeup that makes all the difference after all.

I don't pile on lots of makeup in my daily life, not even for work UNLESS I have something important to attend to.

In fact, I don't really care about my daily image. I want others to see me as who I really am.

I am still me. The ME from 10 years ago, the ME since the day I was born.

I lead a simple life - I go to work from Mondays to Fridays, eat, sleep and wait for weekends to arrive.
And weekends will be the day I sing karaoke at home, hang out with my besties or attend events, if any.

I am, afterall, a girl who is trying to make my life as exciting as it can be.

It was not until recently misunderstandings surfaced that my friendships with my besties are on the rocks.

I am not sure how many people out there actually think the same way - but I was seen as a bad influence on my friends, (and no, I do not blame my friends because they claimed they do not think that way)  which I had NEVER expected myself to be.

Is it the way I portray myself?

I am only being myself afterall. The girl who loves to bring laughter to her friends and cheer up their day, if it is within her abilities.

I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't club..

And most importantly...

I don't break the law.

But somehow I was misjudged based on the type of people I "mix" with.

I know I am a person who has always been on a high profile and not afraid to show who I really am despite the flaws I have - but I myself do know what is right and what's not.

Judging from the few photos of me with another person don't mean that I hang out with the person as often as you think.

I don't go out with just ANYONE from the streets, nor do I attend one-on-one dates with just any guy. (I am not desperate for a boyfriend, mind you. I am happily single.)

I have as much self-respect as any righteous people.

BUT when someone actually attempts to be my friend, I have no control over his/her behavior.

I only have the control to accept or decline his goodwill.

I admit I am a People-Pleaser, someone who wants everyone around them to be happy and are always on the obliging side.

I don't wish to hurt anyone's feelings, be it Side A or Side B. I just want everything to start and end in a nice manner - without anyone being hurt.

I know it's impossible.

And that is the reason why I have always lived my life being the middle person, not knowing which direction to go to.

As much as how I may dislike a particular person, I can't bring myself to hurt him/her emotionally at once.
This has always give me a disadvantage as it is a weak point of mine.

That's just me.

I know I am being irresponsible by dropping everything and running away when everything fall on me - but I guess that is the only way I can be fair to everyone.

My presence has been bringing so much unhappiness these days that I thought I should just take a step back.
Sometimes I wonder if I deserve any friends at all. Why does it seem like I am the only one in this world getting involved in all kinds of unwanted shit and dragging my friends into it as well?

I shouldn't even have gotten them involved.
Now I really hate myself for being so open about my life.

I have never intended to cause any trouble to my besties. I really hope they understand, although it is difficult since they are not me.

I know my friends care for me and am worried about my current situation, but please be rest assured I'll be fine.

I'm sorry, I really am.

P/S: I know there are things that my friends regretted telling me as they have never expected me to become like this, BUT somehow I am glad as they were just telling me the truth. In fact, knowing the truth is better than hiding it. Sometimes it's good to know how others think of me. If someone has to be blamed, I would blame it on myself for being too much of a People-Pleaser that I ended up spilling the water in all directions.

[REVIEW] Revita Lens

I am sure every contact lens wearer would always remember their first experience, just like I do - in a painstaking way.

From learning how to insert those soft plastics on those poor eyes to the frustration of having to take them out, it sure is a tedious task!

(Imagine that - I actually took more than 3 hours just to learn how to insert those lenses in! I got so fed up that I ended up crying. I guess I learned it the hard way.)

And when I finally did learn the techniques, I became a contact lens addict (I believe it's obvious from almost all of my photos, if you've noticed!)

NOT only that, I became a contact lens cleanliness freak as well. As if I have not watched enough scary videos and heard horror stories of infected eyes already!

As much as contact lens can bring you better vision and more beautiful eyes, one must not neglect the fact that cleanliness must be maintained, and to handle those lenses with proper care.

And the type of solution that is used to clean your lenses is just as IMPORTANT too.
The very first bottle of solution I used STUNG my eyes to such an extent that I felt my eyes were on fire. I am not exaggerating - it is true and I was just speaking from personal experience.

Initially, I felt that this was just a normal process - until I read from online sources that the main problem lies in the SOLUTION.

I was worried as I still had more than a quarter of the solution left - and I didn't want to waste my money.
As it continued to sting my eyes every single time I used my lenses after cleaning it, I decided this was it.

I threw the bottle away.

(Yes, if the solution actually STINGS your eyes, it is a sign telling you that the solution you are using isn't suitable for you.)

And soon, I was on a quest to find "THE RIGHT ONE" for my eyes.

I tried different brands of solutions to check what worked - and so far only 2 brands worked for me.

With 1 that was recently discovered.

I am sure you would have seen this in departmental stores:

Yes, REVITA LENS!

The back view of the packaging:

What's inside the trial pack:
-Instruction manual
-Tightly-sealed bottle
-Contact lens case

Gonna open the seal now!

Honestly, I somehow lost trust in other brands after using my previous eye-stinging solution.
I ACTUALLY GOT SO NERVOUS trying out Revita Lens as I wasn't sure if it would have similar negative results.

AND GUESS WHAT??!

IT ACTUALLY WORKS!

After rubbing and cleaning my contact lens with Revita Lens solution, I finally inserted those 2 soft plastics into my eyes and expected for the burning sensation to come.
VERY much to my pleasant surprise, my eyes felt completely normal and I didn't feel anything at all.
I felt good and the feeling of having the lenses settle nicely on my eyes provide such a great comfort.

And because of its compact size, I can actually bring it out with me wherever I go! I have seen in departmental stores that they do come in larger sizes as well, but that can wait when I am done with the trial pack. :)

If you are a contact lens wearer like me, you can try this out yourself too if you haven't!
(Of course, different results vary for different individual. What may be suitable for me may not be suitable for you, or vice versa.)
I am just recommending what IS suitable for me for your reference!

Always remember that it is ALWAYS IMPORTANT and a CRUCIAL act to take good care of your eyes. Contact lenses may be your best friend and enemy at the same time if you do not shower them with proper care.
(I am sure you wouldn't want those micro-organisms to creep and affect your corneas, which often is a high risk for contact lens wearers, no???)
