SG50 Bearbrick Design Competition 2015 - WOOHOO!!! I made it!!!!

Been so busy lately that I haven't got the chance to update my rusty blog!

To those that are still staying tuned to my updates, THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU. Haha.

I'm thrilled to share a good news with everyone here (I went crazy myself when I received the news as it was kinda unexpected) - I participated in a SG50 themed bearbrick design some weeks back, and my design was selected to be part of the exhibition!!!

I don't have photographs featuring it yet- so I grabbed this from the official Action City website

(Those are the judges for the designs!! I see mine on the table!! Aaah.)

There will be 50 designs in total (alongside with designs by local celebrities) that will be displayed at the upcoming exhibition at 313@Somerset. 

As this is a SG50 themed design contest, my design features the iconic Toa Payoh (TPY) Dragon Playground (I just love the dragon playground so much! LOL), and I have implemented it on the bearbrick. 

(Friendly tip: If you can't tell it's the dragon, try using your palm and cover half of its face.. You might just see it appearing...)

I am feeling anxious as they will be producing my design on a 400% (that should be considered medium-sized?) bearbrick.

I have no idea how it is gonna' turn out, but for sure I'm thrilled!!

I know I have mentioned this in my Facebook before, but I am going to say it again.

I'm thankful to all my colleagues who have helped me in one way or another - Many of you went the extra mile to assist me in conceptualizing to visualizing the design. I'm sure the turnout would have been very different if not for you guys.

So.. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I couldn't have been a happier girl seeing my dream and passion turning into reality.

[Short Update] Finally had the chance to visit the NDP Exhibition Booth!

I finally got the chance to visit the NDP Exhibition Booth (my family was there, too!) before it officially closed.

It was a MUST-GO for me as I had wanted to take photographs with my NDP funpacks.
(A big THANK YOU to all who have went to support the designs!)

Seeing them for the first time ever at the exhibition was just... *overwhelmed with emotions*

This year's NDP is going to be so exciting, I can just feel it.

2 Degree Ice Art Exhibition - Fun Experience!

OMG! I have been procrastinating to blog for the longest time ever. 

I'll be updating a few entries this week (hopefully), so do stay tuned!

(And for those regular blog readers who have been returning to my blog daily, thank you for your support! You guys know who you are, silent readers!)

So I paid a visit to the 2 Degree Ice art Exhibition at Marina Bay Sands during last weekend. (Like FINALLY!) The tickets used to be so friggin' expensive that I am glad I made the right choice NOT to go. The prices are now almost half the original prices as the exhibition will be closed soon.
($32 for TWO tickets on weekends!)
Of course, you'll have to rent their thick coat if you do not own one at $5 each; and purchase their gloves at $2. Being the cheapskate old me, I brought along my own jacket and went without any gloves. LOL.

Especially with such a bizarre HOT weather recently, it was heaven to feel such coldness against my skin. (Although I have to admit that it was TOO cold and my fingers were all numb!)

There was this ice slope that reminded me of Snow City. I had a go at it and it was fun as I slid down - revealing the little girl in me as I screamed. HAHA.

It was a fun experience (Although the area was quite small and took me only a short while to navigate around the place)
Still... I am glad I had the chance to visit the exhibition before it is closed for good on 22nd June 2014.
It's not often that we have such interesting exhibits in Singapore anyway!
(And yes, credits to my lovely friend for helping me with the photography. You know who you are!)

Titanic - The Memories

I have always been a HUGE fan of museums. I don't know why, but I feel this vibe whenever I view artifacts. It's a surreal feeling- having to witness a piece of history right in front of me. History is something that I truly appreciate, and always will.

SO IMAGINE MY EXCITEMENT WHEN MY FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT A TITANIC EXHIBITION THAT IS IN SINGAPORE RIGHT NOW.

I was like, "OMG, OMG. Really?! The TITANIC exhibition is here?!" and I totally felt like heading there at that very instant. Speaking of an once-in-a-lifetime experience! I have heard enough raves of the traveling exhibit that has been touring around different countries, and the fact that they made Singapore one of its stops is way beyond awesome.

I'm usually stingy with my money, but I am positive that this exhibit is something that will be well worth every penny. It was really and totally a pity that I wasn't aware of this exhibition earlier when it started off. I guess I have missed out on those happening moments. 

Now, judging from my post, I'm sure you have this impression that I've went to this exhibition already... BUT NO.

As much as I AM DYING TO GO THERE, I'm waiting for the right moment. I figured its going to be more meaningful if I were to go there on 15th April 2012, as its their 100th Anniversary. (And yes, I'm so going to drag all my friends along for this visit.) Advance booking is a must!

It's only January now... And I have a freaking 3 more months to wait. I'm sure all good things will come after the wait. (*breathes in and out* All I need is patience!)

I have a new-found fascination for Titanic recently, and I did a cartoon illustration using my usual style.

I am not really contented as its not tuned to my desired perfection yet. :( I'm not really a perfectionist, even though I tried! Gaaah~

I tried some editing on the illustration using BeFunky's software, and it turned out like this (which I kind of like the effect!):

And to Titanic fans, have you watched "Ghosts Of The Abyss"? Its a beautiful docu-movie. I was watching this with a dropping jaw. You'll feel if you are there, witnessing the aftermath of the shipwreck. The beauty of the Titanic, however, remains. This movie is split into several parts, you may wish to click on the video and link to the other parts if you are interested.



I have learnt so much about the history, facts and everything about Titanic these few days that left me in fascination. I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO VISIT THE EXHIBITION IN APRIL! Can I just step into some time machine that can send me to the date just so I can visit it soonest?
Gaah.. And for those who have yet to visit, do head down to the ArtScience Museum now. Its now or never!
